My old Wallstreet powerbook will only boot up from a system (Os9.2 and
OSX) disk or Norton. And then there is no sign of a hard drive. I
rpelaced the original hard drive with another but still no sign of a
hard drive. What could be causing this? I am loth to get rid of the
Wallstreet (which occasionally comes in useful) if it is something
which can asily be put right. Any suggestions? PP

I don't recall if you can but try running System Profiler off the OS 9.2
CD and look in the ATA / IDE section to see if it can see your HD.

I'd open it up and make sure that both ends of the cable are plugged in
fully.

Do you have TechTool Pro? If so, I would run it to see what it can tell
you.
