Azureus 3.0.4.0 & Current Java Query

Running OS X 10.4.11. on a 1.25ghz dp G4 and the Azureus 3.0.4.0, I
have been stricken by the 100% CPU usage scenario...    A little
reading around tells me that I should check to be sure that I have the
most current Java installed.  I downloaded J2SE 5.0 Release 4 (PPC):
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/j2se50release4ppc.html
and prepared to install, only to receive the "ALERT: This volume
contains a newer version of Java."

Now what?  Did the OS X 10.4.11 updater install some new Java stuff
that isn't compatible?  Is it adviseable to downgrade to the above
mentioned Java?  And if I do, does anyone know what the side effects
might be?

I appreciate any comments / insights with respect to my situation.  I'm
pretty good at following directions (I think), but I'm not the most
savvy software guru/geek...

Thanks again,

Look at the "Post Date" on that webpage: April 17, 2006.  Software
Update probably installed it for you long ago.

Go to System Preferences -> Software Update -> Installed Updates.  It'll
tell you what updates have been installed and when.  Click on the Name
heading and scroll down to J2SE.

Note that some installers will say "you already have a newer version
installed" when it's the same version.
