Someone sent me a Flash link the other day and it wouldn't play in Firefox, instead directing me to download the latest version of the Flash plugin. I downloaded and installed the V.9 plugin, but the link still wouldn't play. about:plugins shows that both Flash 8 and Flash 9 are installed. One would think that the installer for Flash 9 would remove Flash 8 and make Flash 9 the default, but that doesn't seem to have happened. Can anyone tell me how to remove Flash 8 from the Firefox plugins? And/or how to make V.9 the default? Unless the new one came out in the last 48 hours, then yes, I have used the newest installer. I remember reading somewhere that it is better at removing older versions. Anyway, the place to look is "Internet Plug-Ins" in your root library folder. Hey, thanks for trying but now everything's working. I opened the problem site in Safari, just to see if it works there, and it does. Then I reopened it in Firefox, and now it's working in Firefox. I don't know if Safari somehow straightened out the Firefox plugin or what, but there you have it. Only 9.0.47 shows up in the Internet Plug-ins folder and in the Safari plugin list, but both 9.0 r47 and 8.0 r27 are still listed in Firefox about:plugins. The problem will likely reappear on your next reboot, so you still need to remove the 8.0 version.
