I will try once more on this subject. Just bought a new Intel based Mac
and can no longer get any version of shockwave to work. I've tried all
of the workarounds and nothing works not even running in rosetta. I'm
still using Tiger latest update and a new Macbook Pro. I keep getting
messages that there are missing files in X-tras though I can't seem to
get them downloaded and some text file won't run and Director won't
start. Any ideas?

Have you tried creating a new profile in Firefox to see if the problem
is limited to your current profile?:

<http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile>

So in a terminal window:

    cd /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/
    ./firefox -ProfileManager
