First I have to drag it to the finder - from there to iphoto...and
than to delete the pic on the finder...
this are some "clicks" too much...not "apple-like"....

At the time I posted, I thought it was possible to drag the picture
directly from a browser window to iPhoto. I see now that this doesn't
work.
> not "apple-like"....
Yes, but you have to use a non-Apple browser to generate the
non-Apple-like behavior.

Well, you are not altogether wrong, Mike. You can drag a pic from
FF to the Pictures folder in your Start up directory (it is on
the left in the Column view). It is almost as easy to control
click the pic in the FF and save to Pictures or whatever is the
main library file of iPhoto.

Actually, I _was_ entirely wrong, as I thought it was a direct FF to
iPhoto transfer, with no intermediate step.

OK.
It is true that:
IMPORTANT: Do not drag photos directly into the iPhoto Library
folder on your computer's hard disk. Always use iPhoto to import
photos into your photo library.
(help files)
But OP can do what I say and later import.

Yes, and he already knows that. He wants a plugin or other method that
will give him a one-step direct import from Firefox to iPhoto, just as
he has with Safari.

OP talked about dragging to finder and deleting copies and so on.
Can be avoided with save to.

This is exactly what he asked to start this thread:
With Safari, i can with ctrl send a pic from a Webite direct into
iphoto...
but sometimes Firefox is the better browser - does anybody know a
plugin for fitefox, that gives me the same function for this browser -
send "direct to iphoto?

He wants the same direct to iPhoto simplicity with Firefox he has with
Safari. Neither of us can provide him with that.

This is not relevant to the sub point about "save to" being next
best thing.
