iTunes problem after update

As per the norm after Apple's latest updates, I have a problem.

I launch iTunes.  It opens my library then I get a window saying "Updating
iTunes Library".  This finishes and then I get a window saying "The iTunes
Library file cannot be saved.  An unknown error occurred (-50)."

I checked permissions and disk space.  Both are fine.  I made a copy of my
library file and copied in an old one.  Same problem.  Worked fine until I
updated.

Is anyone else seeing this?

John

This topic has come up on Apple's iTunes discussion forum. From what I
can gather, its a bug. See

details.

FWIW, After updating iTunes on a Windows box with the latest update
offered that came out sometime in May I had nothing but problems
including crashes.

I erased (uninstalled) that version and reinstalled an earlier version
that I had wisely saved the installer for.  No more problems.

I also shut off the auto-updates and update warnings but I am still
getting them on the Windows boxes here even after shutting that
feature off so as to prevent accidental updates by a family member.

So aside fromt he Mac bug, there is one on the Windoze side as well.

Thanks.  I looked there first, but didn't see anything.  I must've missed
it.
