Where can I go to keep up on the stages of the Safari beta process.
I'd like to know where it is in the development cycle.

Thanks,

DJ

The HTML/JS/CSS/etc rendering part is called WebKit, and is an open
source project at <http://webkit.org/>. You can download nightly builds
and so forth there, and run them with Safari.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Thanks for that info, but I'm specifically looking for info on
Safari, like when it will be out of beta, or where int he testing
stage it is right now.

I have an upcoming job where Safari will be the main browser used and
I'd like to be able to recommend updating to them.

thanks,

DJ

Nobody who knows that information can tell you, and it's extremely
unlikely they're reading comp.sys.mac.apps.

It will certainly be out of beta when Leopard ships.

Actually, I can make a good prediction when Safari 3 will go real:
tomorrow (29 June).  Safari 3 is all about getting WebKit onto Windows
for iPhone support (my supposition).  iPhone starts shipping tomorrow.
So, Safari 3 out of beta tomorrow along with iPhone.

That and five bucks will get you a small coffee at Starbucks.

The best thing to do is simply keep an eye on www.apple.com in the
downloads section.
