You might make a request in the group

<alt.binaries.mac.applications.retro>

- to see if anyone has access to a copy of OS9 in French. I think I saw
one posted there some time ago. I doubt that OS9 is commercially
available now.

What sort of icon do you have? Is it a question mark?

A comment about an alt.binaries group not being available on his server
did not get copied by my newsreader.

The answer is because it's a PIRATE software group. Any legitimate
server won't carry it.

OS9 can be bought from several vendors, start looking at the
Low End Mac web pages for pointers. You can also buy a
copy off of eBay.

If you call Apple, they may send you a replacment copy of the original
CD that came with the iMac if you give them the serial number.
It is probably MacOS 8.6, but it would be a start.

This assumes that they have any to send you.

Geoff.
