I have a G3 iMac, with OSX 10.3.9.  I have Appleworks 6.2.9 and it's
been working perfectly.  Just this week, I put together an ad for some
furniture I'm selling, and print out a couple of copies.  I saved the
file on my desktop.  Today I went to print out a couple of more
coopies and Appleworks will not open.  It bounces once in the finder
and nothing happens. I tried to go directly to the app, restarted,
looked for updates, nothing works.  Why would it just stop working out
of the blue?

One of the standard techniques of troubleshooting misbehaving programs is
to switch to a different user account and try launching the app there.
Try that and let us know what happens.

Try deleting "com.apple.appleworks.plist" from your user library preferences
folder.

If that doesn't help, see if Disk Utility will verify your startup disk (a good
check every week IAC).

If your disk verifies, try reinstalling Appleworks.

Also try deleting (or moving elsewhere) the
"/Users/yourusername/Document/AppleWorks User Data" folder

You might have a corrupted font. This is a common reaction with some
programs not launching. Go to Font Book and check your fonts.

Hello, I tried logging in as another user, deleting that file and I
looked in the font book but didn't see anything irregular.  Nothing
has changed.  Now I'm trying to find my original disk to re-install
but I don't know where I  put it.  All this doesn't explain the cause
of this sudden problem after 6 years of perfect use.
