Thanks for this solution, Warren.
I found that linking iCal to it's own time zone (Preferences > (Advanced
>) Turn on Time Zone Support) on each machine did the trick.
Now time on machine#1 = time on machine#2 = time on
ical.mac.com/user/calendar
