I still can't get this to send pictures. Recent correspondence with
palm leads me to believe some Classic app is run or installed during
restart. Is that possible? I removed all my Classic Apps years ago,
which could explain why restart hangs and Send to Handheld can't send
pictures.
Does the latest Sync Buddy (2.1) require anything from Classic? If not,
I may give it a try.

I know from this and the other thread you are concerned about photos, for
which Sync Buddy does suffice. But, I suggest you do look at Missing Sync. It
is another $15, but depending on all you end up doing, possibly worth it. I,
who trials software as long as possible, and often longer when I can, bought
it the first day of trying.
I have no affiliation whatsoever.

Thanks. I'll add that to my list of possibilities. One alternate is to
send these to the office. I can synch from Windows just fine. I don't
have all that many phots I want to put on my Palm, but it is a pain that
it isn't working for me but seems to work for everybody else.

I discovered that I can send a jpg but it wants to put it on the SD
card. For those who have Send To Handheld working for jpg files, do you
have an SD card? That would explain why you can do it and I can't.
BTW, Palm is going in circles on this. They seem to go through their
checklist and if nothing works they start over. I have tried to offer
guidance based on what they have suggested before and how that has
worked, but they pretty much ignore me.
