Ever since the 10.4.8 upgrade, my iCal alarms have been popping up
almost entirely off the screen. They used to pop up about a quarter of
the way across the screen, just below the meny bar; now they're way over
to the right, with about 1/5 of the alarm window on the screen. I drag
it back over, but the location doesn't seem to stick.
I have an iBook G4 connected to a mirrored LCD display.

Same thing here, except until I read your article, I hadn't noticed the
upgrade/alarm window anomaly coincidence. But you are right, that is
exactly when it started happening.

AOL! :-) PB G4, 12" 1GHz, 10.4.8, internal display only.
Hm. I, too, never really noticed; however, it is not quite consistent.
Gotta check if there is any difference between, e.g., To Do items and
ordinary scheduled events... I'll be back if I see anything like that.

Oops. My computer is an Intel mini connected to a crappy old 17" CRT
display. I don't think it is machine-related.

Doesn't look like it, no. I'll keep looking for a pattern.

This is a known issue. This issue came up on Apple's iCal and Tiger
discussion forums. Even so, feel free to file a bug report with Apple
via iCal's feedback feature. Hopefully, a fix will be out soon, but the
more people who complain to Apple about it (and provide useful info for
debugging), the better.

Glad you asked -- it's why I opened the group this morning. My iBook G4
is connected to no other display and it shows up where yours does. I'll
do as Stan suggested.
