itunes-lame/itunes 7?

Hi...

Maybe i'm crazy, but I thought I remembered Itunes-lame respecting
the iTunes "Join Track" selections from iTunes.  But now I'm using it
with iTunes 7, and I mark join tracks, but itunes-lame just sucks them
all in separately.  Am I just wishful thinking or has something changed?

Thanks

Probably wishfull thinking. What you can do is import the joined track
as AIFF or WAV, then LAME-MP3 that file. It's double the work, but the
LAME plugin make batch conversion a snap.

Lame plugin?  Is there another way to get iTunes to use Lame other than
iTunes-Lame?

On a related subject, I've seen a number of posts asking how to compile
lame in the form that Amadeus or Audacity will recognize (since the
Lames they use are 4 years old) but I've never seen a response.

THanks
