Hello, I am running Mac OS 9.2 on an 300 MHz iBook. (Yes I
know I need to upgrade). Even though I have all of the
JAVA preferences on JAVA will not run. JAVA does work with
Netscape but prefer Explorer. I have even tried installing
a new version of Explorer and it still will not work. I
tried deleteing preferences and that still did not work.
Rebooting etc... It used to work fine then it stopped when
I was testing a Java script that I was working on and no
longer have. My Mac also only has 96 megs of RAM and will
up grading to 512 in a few weeks. I have 500 megs of disc
space left on the startup disc and 50 gigs free on my
external USB drive. I also have all the latest Apple
System updates. I do not have my original system discs so
I can not resintall the system plus I don't want to lose
registrations to products that I have like CodeWarrior.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. However it still did not do the
trick. I am stummped on this one. I don't know if a
problem with the system, the app, memory, preferences etc.

If I had my long lost system CD it would be a lot easier.
Then I could create a new virgin system folder. I could
install a new version explorer. Then replace prefs and
extensions one by one until I find the culprit.

Check out the the "Class Paths" in the Java Preferences window of IE. If you
have no path assigned, try adding one. Aim especially for MRJClasses folder.
Target through to the Drive : System Folder : Extensions : MRJ Libraries :
MRJClasses.

Select and choose "MRJClasses". Quit IE and Relaunch.

I have seen great improvements in most applets and designs. I have my
fingers crossed for your success.

Take Charge! Make it so.
