It seems MSN and Microsoft have conspired to ensure that one cannot
set a home page on IE 5.2 for Mac to any other home page than the
default page, MSN.com. I have changed the address in preferences,
clicked "automatically go to as homepage" and I also used the control
click "set home page" method, all to no avail: the page keeps
reverting to msn.com.
How do I fix this (short of suing Microsoft for anti-competitive
behavior)?

Quit all applications, launch Internet Explorer, go to Preferences, change
your home page, click OK, and quit Internet Explorer.
If that doesn't work, see this page for more tips:

Same problem here. I can set the home page during a session , but if I quit
and restart it resets to the horrid MSN page.
