Sometimes I have .pdfs that download from sites as a
"filenamepdf.asp".  Apple System Profiler then spins trying to open it
to no avail of course.  I have looked through file helpers and can't
find one that connects to apple system profiler.  Otherwise I have to
go in and manually change the file name  to .pdf  after it downloads.
Only happens intermittently.  Using 10.2.8 and IE 5.2.2.   Encoding
Converter:  Version 1.8.1
Any suggestions?   Please advise
thanks

I too have noticed this happening when using IE. When I get bored or
frustrated with manually renaming the downloaded .PDF, I make note of
the Web site and use another browser in the future (that is, if I'm
downloading additional .PDFs from them at a future time). Usually,
Safari, Camino, or Firefox will download .PDFs with the correct naming.

Other than that, I don't know of anyway to get IE to correctly rename
files served by .ASP pages.
