In preferences I select Google as my home page. Yet it defaults back to
MSN.com each time I restart my iMac. I'm running explorer 5.2 on OSX

If you're running Jaguar (OS 10.2.x) or an earlier version of OS X, you
should make sure that in the "Web" tab of Internet Preferences, located in
the System Preferences application, you have http://www.google.com/ entered
in as your home page.

Then, see this FAQ on Richard Grieve's site to find the correct procedure to
change your Internet Explorer preferences so that they don't revert back to
what they were.

OSX 10.3.3  Mine does the same thing.  After trying to change it in
preferences many time, just opted for a blank page; that worked at
least.   I use Safari also, IE crashes all the time.
