Downloading Files from company web site using IE

We have a Forms and Publications area on our company web
site where visitors can download files. However, Mac
users with an IE browser (any version) get a connection
failure error when trying to download. Mac users using
Netscape, Safari, Firefox, or Mozilla browsers can all
download files fine. Any ideas as to what the problem
might be?

tell them to use something else than msie (it's discontinued and getting
old)
