IE has just started crashing on me at launch, I get splash screen, and
new page, does not draw the page and stops. I downloaded new
version and installed, same thing. Other browsers work fine.
What pref or doc do I need to trash to clear this up or other remedy?
please send email to russ@widstrand.com
G4, os 10.2.8, ie 5.2 and 5.2.3
Thanks

I am seeing the same...started on OS 8.5 and have since upgraded to OS
9.2.2 and IE 5.1.7 but no change. This locks the entire Mac just
after the blank page has loaded but before painting any thing.
TCP connectivity is fine as OE 5.0.6 works with no drama.
Cheers, Frank.

Mac HD:System Folder:Preferences:Internet Preferences
Mac HD:System Folder:Preferences:Explorer:
Mac HD:System Folder:Preferences:PPC Registration Database
Mac HD:System Folder:Preferences:MS Internet Cache:

Many thanks for that tip Richard - that solved the problem (permanently I
hope).

Frank.

Since downloading IE 5.1.7 on my imac (G3, OS 9.2) It will totally
hang up the computer with the home page loaded IF you shut the
computer down and then start up again. I have found that trashing the
history file from the Preferences folder before restarting IE fixes
the problem every time. BUT what a drag - does anyone know what's
going on?? bill
