I am trying to view live streaming video from the c-span.org site.
when I click on the archived video, Quicktime automatically tries to
open the video stream unsuccesfully. I also have windows media player
and the real player., but I can't manage to have those programs open
the video. It always defaults to quicktime. ( I have a mac osX 10.1.5
).
This problem is recent as I could view the video stream in the past
automatically from the same web site. for some reason, quick time is
the default program and I can't seem to fix this.
Solution? Comments and help appreciated
many thanks

C-Span's site points to clips with URLs that begin with the rtsp:
protocol, and QuickTime is too aggressive about taking those URLs when
they are virtually always intended for RealOne Player.
In the Media Types pane of RealOne Player's preferences, be sure the
rtsp protocol is checked, and choose Check Media Types from RealOne
Player's Help menu.
