Dear Group,

You know life's bad when an Apple Developer can't even fix his own crashing
problems!

This odd little crash happens when I open emails that want to display HTML
from a web site.  The crash began happening with the release of OS X 10.2.5,
and I reported it to Apple.  They seemed to be aware of it, but it wasn't
corrected in 10.2.6 or 10.2.8.

I also couldn't launch the latest Internet Explorer (5.2.3) at ALL.  Same
sort of crash.

Interestingly, it works fine when  I log into another user on the same
machine.

I've tried these fine desperation moves:

1) Repaired permissions;

2) Deleted various Cache files (system & user-specific; OS X &
Explorer-specific)

3) Tried to delete any trace of IE and reinstall it (somehow the installer
still thinks it is doing an update, though).

4) Checked hard disk for any directory problems;

Is there anything else anyone can think of?

Thanks!

Stephen Greenfield

This indicates corruption in your User folder not a bug in the OS.

Try deleting these files:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconfig.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.explorer.plist
~/Library/Preferences/Explorer/History.html

(~ = HD/Users/<Your User>/)

Deleting the first file will cause you to lose some of your internet
settings, but you can enter them again in System Preferences.
