God, I'd hope not.
Once Apple developed Safari, M$ figured "screw it" for developing
browsers for the Mac market. IE sucked on the Mac anyway, although it
didn't suck nearly as much as Windows Media Player for Mac.

At least, IE for Mac was a real Mac app. It has some cool feature
(scrapbook, etc) and was the only app to bring some ActiveX supprot on
MacOS X.
WMP for Mac was a quick and dirty (and buggy) port to provide
preliminary support for Windows Media content on MacOS X. An awful app
well replaced by the Flip4Mac WMV ocdecs.
