Porting ActiveX to Safari Mac

Hello All,

We have an ActiveX control that's used in ASP web pages to access the
local printers on the client - to do some custom printing functonlity
from the web page itself. Since ActiveX doesn't work in Mac/IE, is
there any way to achieve functionality on Mac/Safari. Any plugin API
available for accessing local printers from an ASP web page?

Thanks for your help.

I've never seen any port of ActiveX that worked on a Mac.

There is a plugin for FireFox, but it's not cross-platform either.

At this point I don't know any solution you could use.

Some people can access printing through Java or even Javascripts
actually, but that would require a substantial recoding of your pages.
