Technically challenged & need to re-install IE 7 to support some S

I am using an Awareness Tech SW program and have been told I need to
re-install IE 7 in order for the SW to function properly. In order to
re-install, I see that I must first uninstall IE 7 and must disable the AV SW
& Firewall. Being very technically challenged, I am not sure of how to do
this & am afraid of messing up any of my current security settings -
Microsoft apparently does not have any online chat support for this problem
unless you pay. I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 and wonder if anyone can offer
some help? Thank you! mlee

Hum... the first problem is that you are not posting in the proper
group :-\ The name of this group ends with mac.explorer clearly
indicating that it is for the Mac version of Explorer.....
You should re-post in one of the regular Explorer groups.

OK well as I said I am not a very tecnincal person. Guess I wll have to look
around for the right place to post - this was the only IE place I originally
found. Thanks. mlee

For some reason, quite a few people looking for the IE groups end up
here.... There might be something wrong with the search engines in the
MS site :-\
