Every time I try to update to IE7 I get the following fail lines in the install log. I have tried installing with Antivirus etc. turned off which seemed the obvious thing to do, and cannot find any information on this particular problem in any MS help documents. Can anyone help please? 34.453: DoRegistryUpdates:UpdSpInstallFromInfSection Failed for ProductInstall.GlobalRegistryChanges.Install error: 0x5 34.453: INF_REGISTRY Failed 34.453: DoInstallation:DoRegistryUpdates failed 34.484: Access is denied. 34.484: Internet Explorer 7 installation did not complete. Select 'OK' to undo the changes that have been made. 34.484: Starting process: C:\WINDOWS\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe /~ -q -z 58.656: Software Update Rollback has completed with return code 0xbc2. This rollback requires a reboot. 58.656: Internet Explorer 7 installation did not complete. I know I still use it to access some "IE-only" sites that use ActiveX controls (Explorer for Mac supports *some* of them).
