This group is the group for IE for Mac actually. It looks like a lot of
people make the same mistake these days so I'm starting to wonder
whether the MS site has a bad link somewhere.

Could you please let me know what link lead you to this newsgroup??
Thanks,

Corentin

Thanks a million for all the details.
Looking at all the links, it should have kept you in the
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general       hierarchy all the way.

By default, the search there still restricts you to the same newsgroup.
I don;t understand how you ended-up here. I suspect that their search
engine has a serious glitch and "forgets" to restrict to the selected
newsgroup :-(

Well as I was saying, this newsgroup is for the Mac version of IE. The
chances to find someone who knows the answer for  your problem are
pretty slim :-(

You should try reposting in:

?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general&cat=en_us_28cca3eb-7037-4d
