I have an older machine I inherited, and am trying to update it as best as I
can.  Microsoft update says the IE 5.5 is a critical update to 6.  I try to
run the update, and it says 0% installed, jumps to 75%, then says it can't
complete the install, try closing down all other applications first.  I've
done this a number of times, including completely shutting off my antivirus
and firewall while doing so, and still get the same response.  I'm running
AVAST antivirus and was running Sygate personal firewall, which used to be
good, until Symantec bought them out.  I'll be switching it to Zone Alarm
here shortly.

Thanks
