Installation went smoothly over IE6 in Win XP updated. Broadband connection
stayed live at end of installation and MS web site was live OK. But when I
closed IE7 my broadband connection crashed. Tried everything could think of
without avail so removed IE7 - which fortunately restored IE6. Still no joy
until I reinstalled my BT/Yahoo! Broadband and router software.
The only possible reason I can think of for the broadband connection failure
after installing IE7 arises from the fact that I recently installed a BT
wireless router for Broadband to take the place of a dial-up modem (and
removed the modem when installing my wireless router). Maybe IE7 installation
read the IE6 set-up and used those particulars, which possibly therefore
programmed in a connection to my non-existant modem. I don't want all this
hassle again (I'm too old for it!) Now that I've got IE6 and BT/Yahoo! both
running via my broadband wireless router do you think I could risk trying
another IE7 installation with any chance that a second attempt might succeed?

You may wish to repost your question in a Windows IE newsgroup. This one
is strictly for the Macintosh version of IE, which never made it to
version 6 or 7.
If you would be so kind as to let us know how you came to post your
question here, we would all appreciate it. The MVP is trying to track
down the source of the error which is allowing Windows oriented
questions to show up in a Macintosh newsgroup. Thanks in advance for any
info you can give.
