I am running VP with SP2.

I downloaded and installed IE7

During the install I left the checkbox ticked for Windows Auto updates etc.

After the install finished, it asked for a reboot....

Now all I can get is a blue screen with the message
"The windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a
status of 0x00000006 (0x00000000 0x00000000) The system has been shut down"

What am I supposed to do now?

You might start by paying attention to what newsgroups you're posting
in. PC tard!

That's quite an abusive tone you have there! Do you have a problem expressing
yourself with normal intercourse?

For your information I selected the 'Internet Explorer' discussion from the
posting thread drop down 'Post In Discussion Group '. If there is a user
interface issue that prevents the system from informaing me that it is a Mac
thread, well that's unfortunate.

Let me guess...you're also using Outlook Express like a lot of PC
losers? Ever think of reading what's on the screen?

The X-Newsreader header indicates "Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000". I
would guess that the post originate from the MS support web site which
is sometimes a bit confusing.

I don't quite understand why be so aggressive with bmg-dublin  for a
rather trivial mistake though :-\
(I sure make mistake of this kind from time to time, don't you??)

BTW: Your headers indicate that you are using Thoth 1.7.2. The current
version is 1.8.1 and it is a free update from 1.7.2.

Yeah, posting from web-pages doesn't always make it easy :-\
For your information, the name of this group is
"microsoft.public.mac.explorer". As you can see, the name indicates that
it is the newsgroup for the Mac version of Internet Explorer. You'll
certainly have better luck getting an appropriate answer from the
corresponding Windows groups IMVHO.

I use an nntp client to access the groups which makes it easier IMVH
(you can try that in Outlook Express on your PC actually).

I don't have much experience with this problem. I've installed IE 7 on a
few of the PCs we have around here and didn't have any such problem.
Can you reboot in safe-boot mode?? If you can, I would check the hard
drive for directory damage and try reinstalling IE 7 from there. I don't
know whether or not the IE7 installer needs to connect to the web to get
more data. If it does, you can try safe-boot mode with network
connection,

In any case, I'm sure you'll get better replies from the IE for Windows
group.

Although I don't aggree with Randall Ainswoth's rudeness, he's got a good
point.

When it says Macintosh>Internet Explorer Newsgroup it means that's it's a
Macintosh Newsgroup!

No harm done though!
