I have been browsing and would like to know if J Walker (last message
Aug 2004) managed to solve this problem (Explore quitting) with
Explorer 5.2 on Mac OS 10.2, because it is now happening to me.

I was wondering if it has anything to do with Explorer for Mac no
longer being supported  by Microsoft? Would really appreciate some help.

Hi,
If you are using OS9.
You could try moving Explorer Preferences to the desktop;
(System Folder, Preferences, Explorer Preferences).
Then attempt to open Explorer again.

Next item to try is the Download Cache;
(System Folder, Preferences, Explorer, Download Cache).
Try opening Explorer.

With OS X, these files are in a different place, but you can try a similar
approach.
Although the desktop doesn't behave in the same way, you could compress the
files, so the System cannot see them to use.

But really, you might be better off with another browser...
MSIE was last updated a long time ago, MS have ceased supporting it.

If you NEED to access a website that insists you use MSIE (quite a few banks
do, you'd think that they would know better!), you can ask Safari/iCab to
pretend to be IE.
