I moved a client from OS 9.2 to a new MAC with OS 10.4.  On the old MAC I
setup a "Hosts" file with the name and IP address of our intranet server for
access inside the company.  I have not found any info in any book or
reference on how to do that with OS10.4  Its a bit of a long story but this
cannot be done in this instance with DNS.

Please advise how to setupa hosts file with 10.4

A Google search for:
    "os x" "hosts file"
will turn up dozens of web sites with information.
