use of i.e go back icon causes java error

When using the go back icon on internet explorer on a mac jaguar we are
getting the following error: ' java script type error -  null
value'....help

dump IE and get something more modern like Firefox

article speak to the problem we're having and if so how do we go about
retrieving this article. references to ''1132850591.834370.135' return
nothing, references to  'g43g2000cwa.googlegroups.com''  get me a page
not found. I'm trying to help a neighbor that has a mac and this is the
first time the got this error.  I understand that i.e on a mac is not
the most progressive piece of software, but that's what there using and
up till now have had no problems

Microsoft has gone on record recently telling people to DITCH IE on the
Mac. Finito.
