Hi.  Since I downloaded IE 5.1 my web site link (kristentussey.com) accessed
through my Mac G3 computer (and through google) comes up in garbled html
text.  It loads just fine using windows. Any suggestions?

Your website is missing a doctype. That's a good place to start. The
doc type helps translate the rest of the document. FrontPage 2000 is
one of the problematic versions of FrontPage. The most recent versions
are supposed to be a lot better, according to a friend who is a
Microsoft MVP (PC) and web developer.

Even assuming a doc type of HTML transitional, the lowest-supported doc
type, FP has plugged a bunch of stuff in your code that is not
supported by current standards. When I went to validate your code using
the WorldWide Web Consortium's validator, it assumed HTML transitional,
a very forgiving doc type - and it still came back with 38 more errors.

I checked your site on my Mac on FireFox (fine), IE5.2.3 (oh, it broke
big time), Safari (fine), and Opera (fine). It didn't check it on my
PC, which isn't turned on.

I wouldn't worry a whole lot about it breaking in 5.1, and even my
stats for 5.2.3 (the last version of IE for the Mac) are in the very
low single digits for all of my sites.

This is a good place to start.

Agreed. I was trying to be politically correct. ;-)
