Internet Explorer 523.d for Mac OS X download

I can't open IE 523.d for Mac OS X after I dowloaded it to my hard
drive. The icon is on my desk top but won't open. What is up with that?

Dear Brew,

Hey, how's it going? Well, I am experiencing a similar problem when I
try to download the lastest version of IE too. Everything seems to go
fine with the downloading of the software, but I don't see the IE icon
anywhere on my dashboard (the icons on the bottom of your screen). I
have deactivated my antivirus software when I try to complete the
download process because the Microsoft website says that this might
interfere with the downloading process. Does anyone have any hints on
how to overcome this problem? Please let me know. I look forward to
your response(s). Take care.
