I am using an iMac, G3 I think, with internet explorer 5.1. (Yes I know
this is an ancient computer, but my friend decided to give it to me and
now I have to figure out how to use it.)

I only get this error message (the specified server could not be found)
when I try to login to one website. IE works fine on all other websites
I've been on, including this one.

I haven't been able to figure it out. I tried searching this group, but
the messages were hard to follow and not quite the problem I've had.
I've tried everything I know, but unfortunately, while I can do almost
anything on a PC, macs are very unfamiliar territory.

I would appreciate any assistance.

Hi Kara!

Are you sure you have the correct address? Can you get to the same site
from another machine? Are you able to post the address?

That would be a problem only with that particular URL, not your overall
Internet connection.

Yes, I can get into the site on a PC. I can access nearly everything on
this site except I cannot login. I am assuming it is due to content on
that site not being supported by IE version that I have. I checked the
mac site for updates, and I found that the next level up requires mac
osx.

It is a really odd problem though, because I can access everything else
and login in to every other site except for this one (tribe.net).

IE for Mac is dying and going fast. Some things may work, but be
prepared to have this happen more often, on more sites.
