Something happened a few months ago in my IE where all accessed movie
files usually opened by the QuickTime Plugin or the QuickTime Player
stopped doing so. Now, whenever a movie link is clicked on, I get an
error message saying that the QuickTime Plugin could not be loaded,
therefore the movie could not be accessed. I have reinstalled IE, gone
into both Preferences->File Helpers and Preferences->Protocol Helpers
and changed all appropriate instances of movie files to open with my
QuickTime Pro application instead of the Plugin, but to no avail. It
still tells me every time that it cannot load the QuickTime Player and
therefore not the movie either. I also have Windows Media Player and
RealOne Player, and they both work fine with their file types. I am
using IE 5.2.3. Any suggestions?

What version of QuickTime are you using? Does that version of QuickTime
support a plugin for IE?
Can you provide a link to a QuickTime video that should play within the
browser for testing?
