My step-father has an old Mac Powerbook with OS 9.2 on it. He put the
most current version of Explorer for OS 9 and when he goes to google or
yahoo and does a search he gets an error message that says something
like "security zone settings error".  I tried looking at everything
under the preferences and there is nothing I can change or fix.  I
tried cleaning and re-installing and that didn't work.

Anyone seen this prolem or have any ideas??  Thanks!!

I am also using Mac OS 9.2. I am being told by some sites I try to
access (e.g. MLX)  that their page requires Explorer 5.5 or later. I am
using Explorer 5.1 and can't find a later version for Mac. What version
do you have?

5.1.7 is the best you can do.

When you receive a message indicating a specific browser version, in
particular IE 5.5 or later, then the website has been specifically coded
to be Windows-centric when checking IE versions. That's not to say that
IE for a Mac will not work but the site developers have neglected to
test with IE for Mac and are using the browser version to block
unsupported browsers.

These same developers may have tested with other Mac OS 9 browsers such
as Netscape but more likely have tested only with Mac OS X browsers such
as Safari and Firefox.
