I tried to download Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X and received a
.sitx file extension that's not recognized by OS X. I'm using Mac's
latest 10.4 Tiger software. Why did it download with this unrecognized
file extension?

The sitx file extension indicates a file compressed with StuffIt X. Do you
have a recent version of StuffIt Expander? Try opening it with that.
