I went to a site and I loged on to it and after awhile a blank shows up
saying it is secure. The first window tells me that the sign in was
sucessful but the pop up blocker needs to be adjusted to allow  text to
display. Funny thing I don't have a pop up blocker attached thatI know
of I tried this at work and it comes up just fine..
I have Ie 5.1.7 with Mac OS 8.6
HELP!

It looks like you are dealing with ignorant people that only understand
Windows and do not even acknowledge that any other operating systems exist.
Their code is not well written, and it does not check for the things it
should be checking for.

It is extremely likely that they are using either LiveConnect or Visual
Basic (VBA).  Neither of those are available from MacIE.  What are you using
at work, a WintelPC?  WinIE does have both LiveConnect and Visual Basic
(VBA).

You should talk to the tech support people for the service you are trying to
use.  First, tell them that you are using a Macintosh and ask them which Web
Browser you should use.

If that does not give you any answers, ask them specifically if their
software uses either Visual Basic or LiveConnect.   Keep telling them to
give you the next higher level of tech support until you get somebody that
understands the question and can answer it.

I have heard that LiveConnect is supported in both Safari and Firefox, but I
have not verified that.  Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) has never
existed on the Mac, and never will.

Good luck!
