Forgive my extreme ignorance where technology is concerned. I just
downloaded IE 5.1.7 in an effort to get away from the seriously wacked
version I'm currently using, and when I click on the smi file I get the
error message, "You do not have the proper privileges to use this
file."

What am I doing wrong? I thought this was freeware?
I'm running OS 9.2.2 if that helps at all.

Hi,

Try opening Stuffit Expander, by default this application will be stored
under <Hard disk>/Application Mac OS 9/Internet Utilities/Aladdin Folder &
try opening .smi file through Stuffit Expander.

Hope this resolves your issue.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't work. I have Stuffit Expaner
6.0, and it unstuffs things automatically, which is why I didn't think
to try it. But even when I open S.E. and key the "Expand" on this
Explorer file, nothing happens. Could my Stuffit Expander program be
wacked too?

Thanks anyway!
