g3pb wallstreet 233hz  325ram  os 9.2.2

My IE 5.1.7 frequently Goes into a mode where the cursor alternates with the
appearance of the rolling ball (surveyor¹s target? What is that symbol
called in computerspeak?) at a frequency of about a second for each. This is
accompanied by slow or no response to clicks or scrolls to the point that I
know the only thing to do is quit explorer and start up again. Does anyone
know why this is happening and what I can do to remedy the problem?

Thanks, Rafael

Hi,

-Try removing(move it on to the desktop) internet preferences. You can find
this file under <Hard disk>/System folder/preferences.
-Try assigning more memory to Internet Explorer.

Quit IE (if it is open), Select IE and go to get info and try increasing
preferred size memory for the application and check.

Hope this resolves your issue.

"g3pb wallstreet" is battery powered, right? So the hdd goes to sleep
sometimes to conserve power.

Getting the colorful rolling "ball of death" in OSX usually indicates that
the program or the system is starved for RAM.  You can read up on the
internet to see how to monitor RAM usage (this will allow you to find out
what the problem is, which is the first step towards fixing the problem).
Quitting and restarting the problem app is usually called for.

Welcome to UNIX.  UNIX in not for the novice.
Learn to use the UNIX Command Line Interface window.

Fun.
