I am a U Haul dealer attempting to discard a PC in favor of a Mac
(OSX). I am told by corporate IT department that IE for the Mac will
not work, requiring IE 5.5 or higher, because their intranet system
uses ActiveX controls. There must be a way!! Problem is in drop down
menus...

Can anyone help me in my quest to trash my PC? Thanks...

Hi Active X Controls is Windows Proprietary technology and has limited
support on IE for Mac.

Regards

Mahesh

You could install VirtualPC on your Mac and continue to use whatever
Windows apps are required by U-Haul, including IE for Windows.
