I use OS9.2 on my Mac, connecting to the 1mb broadband service
provided by British Telecom in the UK.

Ever since upgradng to 1mb from BT's '500' service, I've not been able
to see any web pages at all using Explorer5.1.7 (and I have removed
all previous IE files and downloaded a fresh copy), though I can
access pages using Netscape6.

And I was able to view pages using IE5 before the upgrade to the
faster service.

BT wash their hands of my problem, saying the connection is obviously
OK and the problem lies with the browser.

Maybe my Preferences are wrongly set.

Does anyone in the UK know how to fix it?

Did you remember to try removing the Explorer folder in the Preferences
folder?
Removing the PPC Registration Database file, also in the Preferences
folder, might also be worth a try.
I can't see how the speed change could affect it, perhaps it's just a
coincidence.
