No, sorry. The latest version for OS 8-9 is 5.1.7. You'll need to upgrade
your OS and perhaps your computer too to use the latest version (5.2.3) or
for the widest selection of other browsers (Netscape, Mozilla, OmniWeb,
Safari, Opera). Many of those browsers can be configured to give the
Internet Explorer user-agent string to get some IE-only sites to let you in.
To use Internet Explorer 5.5, you'd need a Windows machine or Virtual PC
running on an OS X machine.
You could try Mozilla 1.2.1, the latest for Mac OS 9, if the site supports
Netscape/Mozilla.

An alternative may be iCab in OS 8.6
(see the ReadMe _Before_ using, need Text Encoding Converter 1.5)
or OS 9 (which uses TEC 1.6).
It has a preference setting, JavaScript, Browser Identity for IE 5.5.
As well as Network Identity, Browser Identity, (Mozilla 4) for IE 5.
See <http://www.icab.de/>, worth a try?
