I looked on the developer's web site <http://www.avatron.com/> but see
nothing re. minimum iPod software (firmware?) required for this app.

Any ideas?

The app store says it needs iPhone 2.0 Software Update. The free
version works with 2.1.1 on my iPod Touch, incidentally.

The most obvious reason is that you have a much higher chance of
getting a correct answer from the authors than around here.
