Is this memory compatible with my Mac

I have a single processor 1.8GHZ G5 PowerPC Tower. System Profiler says that
it is using PC3200U-30330 DDR SDRAM.

I have two pairs of  old memory from two different PCs.

Pair 1 says: Samsung PC2-3200U-333-10-A1
KR M378T6553BG0 - CCCDS 0450

Pair 2 says:Crucial PC3200U-30331-Z DDR 400 CL3 UNBUFF
CT5464Z40B.8TDY
BP112J9.PG

Are either/both of these compatible with my Mac?

Thanks

The Samsung pair are DDR2, so they won't work in a 1.8 GHz G5.

The Crucial pair are more likely to work. They are the right general
type (PC3200, unbuffered), assuming they are full size DIMMs, not
SO-DIMMs, but I can't find any online reference which confirms the
specifications based on the part number.

Thanks for your post.

So if they fit there is no problem in trying them?
And, if they work there shouldn't be a stability problem?

I think you've misquoted or misread the part number. The second line is
probably "CT6464Z40B", which would make it a 512 MB DIMM which Crucial
is still selling:

Oddly, they list a different part number for 512 MB DIMMs for a PowerMac
G5, and I can only find it via their system configuration tool":

The basic technical specs are identical.

If it was my computer, and I knew the memory was working previously,
then I'd try it. Worst case it might not be recognised.

Perhaps you could try contacting Crucial and asking if it will work in a
Mac.

You will need to install the memory as a matching pair.

Comparing to your existing memory, the last digit of the RAM speed
details is different (1 vs 0), but I doubt that will affect anything
other than a very slight performance hit (probably unmeasurable).

If the memory is recognised (as reported in System Profiler) it should
be stable as long as the memory isn't faulty. Crucial is generally
regarded as a good brand.

Thanks. I guess I'll email Crucial and double check.
