Hi.  How are all the DVD formats that the Mac supports different from
each other?

DVD-R
DVD-R DL
DVD-RW
DVD+R
DVD+R DL
DVD+RW

If it says RW it's erasable. If it says DL it's dual-layer (and double
the capacity). It it's got a + it's optimized for random access (optimal
for data) as opposed to linear access (optimized for movies) although
either format can hold either kind of content.
