Would this Transcend RAM work in my iMac?

I have an original/Mid-2007 Aluminum 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo iMac in need of a
RAM upgrade.

Would this Transcend RAM (part number TS256MSQ64V6U-SM)
<http://www.c1com.co.nz/shop/step1.php?number=12824> work? From what I
can see there and on Transcend's site the specs match. But I'm always a
little uncertain buying from non-Apple dealers when it comes to RAM.

Has anyone here bought Transcend RAM for their 2007 Aluminum iMac?

Many thanks,

Check your "about this mac" and system profile for info about the RAM
you have. If the RAM is the right speed and has the right number of
pins, it should work.

I bought some laptop RAM for my MacBook. It was PC5300 DDR2 667MHz 200
pin. It was about half the price of "Mac laptop RAM" and a quarter of
the price of Apple RAM.

In the olden days you also had to worry about voltage and parity and
error correction but we're pretty much past that these days.

I put in new RAM into my iMac 24" 2.8 core duo 2, and have sitting in
front of me the original RAM- actually, maybe not, as this is an Apple
refurb, but the new RAM says "For Notebooks" but is happily powering me
along.

So I have as of yesterday two tested 1 Gig 'notebook' sized PC2-5300
stick of RAM. If interested, my e-mail will work with the right subject
line, "[Mac Help]", without the quotes.

Yes, I knew that, but the US postal service has links to your pony
express..... :)

Not to worry in any event.

Oh, well - if you think you can get them here safely and at a reasonable
cost I'm still interested :-) I just thought YOU might be put off by the
distance :-)

Cheers John.
