Just the same as with any other Intel Mac.

MacBook Air is a slimmer hardware design that lacks some of the
connection ports and optical drive found on other Macs, but otherwise is
the same.

Of course if you re installing from a disk, you need to either have an
external USB optical drive or use the remote drive feature to use a
drive on another computer.
