I heard On the news this evening that Netscape is about to take it's
last breath.

I have depended on it to read my newsgroups and do my list serv.

I need suggestions as to the best newsgroups readers to use on my IMAc
G4 running on the latest update of OSX Tiger.

I currently also use Safari 3 and the latest version of Firefox.

TIA,

Don Whitely

I've been using MT-Newswatcher since the mid 90's.  Based on the Jon
Norstadt Newswatcher, the current version is OS X solid and universal.

The web site is:

This is a strange thing to post to a hardware-related newsgroup, but
your current version, 7.2, which is several years old already, will
continue to work exactly as it has.

This topic comes up all the time.  Do a search of the Usenet archives at
Google Groups to see what's already been written, as what constitutes
the "best" newsreaders depends on which features one wants.

In the meantime, Netscape 7.2's functionality is now in another Mozilla
app, Sea Monkey, and you ought to upgrade to that regardless.

He also posted it to several other comp.sys.mac.* groups.  For someone
so concerned about reading newsgroups, you'd think he would know the
proper etiquette: DON'T MULTIPOST.  If someone really is appropriate for
more than one group, CROSSPOST.

Anyway, please let this thread die in this group, since it's off-topic.
